Role Description:
Wellington-Altus is currently recruiting for an Associate. Reporting to a Portfolio Manager, the Associate will act as a resource person for clients and assist the Portfolio Manager with administrative tasks related to managing client accounts.

As the Portfolio Associate, you will:
• Assist in preparing Advisors and Managers for client meetings, including preparation of account-opening documentation
• Complete account processing activities (converting RRSP to RRIF, setting up RRIF payments, estates, beneficiary updates, etc.)
• Process a variety of transactions (ex: issuing cheques, deposits, contributions and withdrawals, incoming and outgoing transfers)
• Commit to rigorous follow-up relating to all client transactions to ensure proper processing and minimize errors
• Act as a general resource person for clients (ex: printing statements, tax slips)
• Have a strong understanding of the firm’s procedures and policies
• Act as a lead on team projects
• Maintain client files, ensure that all documentation and notes are compliant with industry regulations
• Perform general administrative tasks (ex: prepare letters, client communication pieces, etc.)
• Attend client events
• Perform other duties as assigned

Your education and qualifications include:
• Diploma in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field of study
• Professional designation such as PFP or CFP considered an asset
• Minimum of one year of industry experience, preferably in an administrative or operational capacity
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated, reliable work ethic with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and work requirements
• Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing extraordinary service to high net worth clients
