Marcus Basara

Marcus graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he played hockey in the NCAA. After retiring from his pro-hockey career, Marcus furthered his education and is an Investment Advisor, while also working towards the Portfolio Manager designation. In 2021, Marcus moved his practice to Wellington-Altus Private Wealth and established the Selkirk Wealth Management Team with Portfolio Manager, Nick Steele.

Marcus holds a strong passion for financial markets and building strategic financial plans. Working with an assortment of business owners, incorporated professionals, and individuals in the entertainment industry; he understands there are several layers to his client’s financial picture and strives to ensure all layers are working together.

Born and raised in Vancouver, Marcus now calls Kelowna home. Outside of the office, Marcus enjoys all activities the Okanagan seasons have to offer.
