Gary Mayzes

Gary is a seasoned leader, with significant depth of progressive wealth management experience spanning more than 30 years, including success in advisory, branch management, regional management and head office roles at an executive level.

Prior to joining Wellington-Altus, Gary was Managing Director and Region Head Alberta, Private Wealth Management & Wood Gundy, where he was responsible for the wealth advisory business serving CIBC’s high-net-worth clients. He also led Woody Gundy’s National Strategic Advisory programs as Managing Director, overseeing recruiting, succession, practice management, leadership development and all training programs. Previously, Gary was also a successful Chairman’s and President’s Council Advisor for 10 years with Midland Walwyn & Merrill Lynch.

A passionate industry advocate, Gary regularly writes about wealth management on LinkedIn to further the evolution of the industry. He has served on the IIROC Regional Board and Corporate Executive Board for Full-Service Brokerage in North America. He led the 2007 Climb for the Cure on Mount Kilimanjaro, raising over $565,000 for breast cancer.
