He strives to deepen the relationships with his clients through regular and ongoing contact, and he uses a variety of meeting platforms to match the flexible nature of his clients’ lifestyles.
Doug works diligently to be available to clients and to provide the most current market and financial information. This strong work ethic was developed at an early age through farmwork in Ontario where he grew up. Toiling amongst mushrooms and minks, and later as a labourer for a landscaping company, Doug realized that physical labour was not the lifestyle that he wished for. Instead, he began to pursue a career in the investment business, and in 1996 he took a job with a small mutual fund company in Toronto’s financial district. This was the beginning of a lifelong interest in financial education and service. The passion that was sparked at that time is what has led Doug to the successful career that he has today.
Outside the office, Doug can be found spending time with his family and engaging in his community. He is enthusiastic about outdoor pursuits and finds solace hiking, backpacking, paddling, skiing and mountain biking with his loved ones. When not on an outdoor adventure, Doug is an avid hockey player and a former coach. He thrives in the competitive spirit of sport – as an individual, as a coach and as a spectator for his family members. Doug also believes in supporting the community through the sharing of knowledge. He has spent the past 8 years facilitating financial literacy workshops to empower and educate community members on managing their own finances effectively.
Doug believes in empowering individuals through education, is committed to financial literacy, and truly values community.
