Elaine Knotek-Holmes is a trailblazer in Canada’s investment industry, bringing more than 30 years of leadership, innovation, and strategic expertise to wealth management. She began her career at Midland Doherty, a firm that evolved through mergers into Midland Walwyn and ultimately CIBC Wood Gundy—giving her early exposure to the fast-paced world of finance.

In 1993, Elaine made a bold entrepreneurial move, co-founding Altus Securities Inc., where she held the roles of Director, President, and Chief Operating Officer. Her forward-thinking leadership was instrumental in shaping the firm’s growth and reputation. Building on that success, she co-founded Wellington-Altus Private Wealth in 2017, now recognized as one of Canada’s premier independent wealth management firms—an organization built by advisors, for advisors.

Elaine is widely regarded as a respected voice in the investment community. She is a past president of the Toronto Society of the Investment Dealers Association and has served on the Ontario District Council. A passionate advocate for financial literacy and professional collaboration, she contributed her expertise to Smart Choices, a multidisciplinary group educating Canadians on complex financial issues. She also champions the advancement of women in wealth management as an active member of the Women of Wellington Council.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Elaine leads an active and enriching life. She and her husband, David, take pride in raising their son, Mitchell. She is an avid skier, boating enthusiast, voracious reader, and passionate world traveler who embraces new experiences with the same energy she brings to her career.
