Fred Banwell does not try to be all things to all people. Since starting his career in the investment industry in 1994, Fred has tailored his expertise to the specialized goals and needs of high-net-worth Canadian families, business owners, and corporations. Early in his career, Fred worked for several multinational technology companies and owned his own 65+ employee business. This experience has provided Fred valuable insights into both the corporate world and the financial planning challenges business owners face. It has also helped Fred relate to clients who share his values of integrity, honesty, rationality, openness, big picture thinking, fairness, and accountability.
Prior to joining Wellington-Altus Private Wealth, Fred worked with one of Canada’s other top independent wealth management firms for 18 years. He thrives in entrepreneurial cultures and at Wellington-Altus, Fred is thrilled to be able to offer clients a wide range of innovative products and services.
In addition to his professional experience, Fred holds a B.A. in Business from the University of Toronto, the CFP® and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®) designations. With a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and skills in several other martial arts.
