Scott Blair

For 20 years, I was a pension consultant operating in the institutional side of the financial business. As a retail structured product specialist, I initiated and managed several billion dollars of retail product sold through the investment dealers to consumers. I wasn’t positioned to see the direct benefit of my work with a person or family. I never saw a pension plan member or an individual investor. It was all remote, impersonal.

Now, as an investment advisor, I draw on my work experience and personal skills to deal directly with our clients. Developing a meaningful relationship with each client is very rewarding for me. Even more importantly, I can see the tangible result of my work and contributing to the success of that individual provides great satisfaction. The direct, practical connection between my work and the lives of my clients inspires me and is a source of joy in my life.

Outside of work, we live a busy life. My two passions are sailing and flying. Other keen interests are fishing, tennis, squash, and work. I love what I do. In addition, both Zoe and I are great supporters of TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and the Bloor Hot Docs Theatre. We feel very fortunate to live in Canada, where all these things are possible.
