John Baxter

John Baxter is an accomplished wealth management leader with more than 25 years of experience spanning compliance, risk management, audit, operations, and advisor support. As Regional Manager, Ontario at Wellington-Altus, he brings a proven track record of helping advisory teams grow their businesses while maintaining strong regulatory and governance standards.

Prior to joining Wellington-Altus, John served as Assistant Branch Manager with TD Wealth Private Investment Advice, where he supported advisor success, strengthened client-focused practices, and helped foster a culture of engagement and accountability. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles with Scotia Capital and RBC, developing deep expertise in branch leadership, regulatory oversight, change management, and operational excellence.

Recognized for his collaborative leadership style, John is known for building trust, developing high-performing teams, and balancing strong governance with a commitment to advisor and client success. He is bilingual in English and French and holds the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) designations.
