Colin joins Wellington-Altus as Executive Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and as a Director of Wellington Altus Financial. He began his wealth management career in 1992. In addition to serving high net worth, ultra high net worth and institutional clients, Colin also spent many years in executive management at his prior firm managing the Prairie Region and was on the advisory committee that set policy and strategy for over 1200 advisors and over $120Billion in assets.
Colin is a former finalist for the IDA Distinction Award, an award given to investment professionals who represent excellence in the profession. In addition to being recognized annually internally at his previous firm for excellence in wealth management, in 2019 he was recognized as one of the top 50 (#11) Advisors in Canada by Wealth Professional Magazine. In that same year was also awarded the Portfolio Manager of the Year award by the same publication and his team was finalist for the advisory team of the year (fewer than 10 employees).
Colin is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). This global programs rigorous curriculum and work experience requirements make the CFA charter the most rigorous and recognized achievement in the global investment industry.
Colin also has a B.Comm. (Honours – Finance) from the Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba.
He has also completed executive education programs from the Wharton School of Finance at The University of Pennsylvania and the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has also completed numerous industry programs. He is committed to lifelong learning and as such in 2018 completed the Institute of Corporate Directors Course (ICD.D) through the Rotman School of Management and the Asper Executive Education Centre.
