Wellington-Altus Ranked One of Canada’s Top Growing Companies

WINNIPEG, TORONTO, and MONTRÉAL, September 27, 2024 /CNW/ — Wellington-Altus Financial Inc. (Wellington-Altus), parent company to Canada’s top-rated investment dealer*, today announced its placement on The Globe and Mail’s list of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for 2024—the second consecutive year the firm has earned this recognition, demonstrating its impressive growth trajectory.

Since its genesis in April 2017, Wellington-Altus has surpassed an incredible $30 billion in assets under administration (AUA). With nearly 900 employees, more than 110 advisor teams and 54 offices across the country, the firm has confidently set sights on $50 billion AUA by the end of 2026.

“The secret to our success from day one has been our support and commitment to advisors, and ultimately, our care factor,” said Shaun Hauser, Founder & CEO of Wellington-Altus. “By partnering with the right people, and listening to their concerns, we’ve created a platform of industry-leading technology and support that separates us from the competition and enables our advisors to better serve their clients and accelerate the growth of their practices.”

Launched in 2019, Canada’s Top Growing Companies ranks Canadian businesses on three-year revenue growth. Wellington-Altus placed No. 226 on the list of 416 businesses included in this year’s report.

“When you put people first, the numbers follow,” added Shaun. “As we look towards our next goal of $50 billion, we remain dedicated to carrying out our mission of revolutionizing wealth management in Canada to meet the ever-evolving needs of high-net-worth investors.”

June Market Insights: America at 250

America reaches its 250th anniversary not as a fallen hegemon, but as the dominant centre of global hard power, monetary power, and frontier innovation. It still sits astride the world’s resource base through energy, agriculture, and continental depth; it still issues the reserve currency at the core of global trade and finance; and it still leads the race to build artificial intelligence (AI) as the next digital platform. Yet precisely because American power remains so large, the visible breakdown of the post–Second World War rules-based order has become impossible to ignore. To anyone who has read German historian and philosopher Oswald Spengler’s The Decline of the West (1918), this is not a surprise but a pattern: history is not a straight line of progress. Instead, it is the record of civilizations that rise as living cultures harden into systems and eventually exhaust the moral energy that made them great in the first place. America did not choose this time, but it has been born into it.

Winston Churchill, as first lord of the Admiralty, tied Britain’s fate to Persian oil. United States President Donald Trump’s war in Iran, centred on Operation Epic Fury, could do the same for the West by removing Iran’s nuclear shadow, resetting oil toward US$60, and finally unlocking a modern peace dividend.

This results in a straightforward tax effect whereby the investor receives investment income and pays the appropriate amount of tax on a portion of the proceeds. With indirect ownership of securities, for example where an investor owns stocks indirectly through a mutual fund or an ETF, the tax situation may not be as simple.
